The Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation today announced it will host ”The Unsung Hero - The CareGiver: An Evening with Lee Woodruff,” featuring author and ABC’s Good Morning America contributor Lee Woodruff on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at The Peabody Memphis.
Woodruff is the third presenter in the Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation’s annual speaker and dinner series. Woodruff serves as a home and family contributor to ABC’s Good Morning America. In addition, she has also written several books sharing funny and poignant takes on life.
Woodruff received national acclaim for leading her family’s journey of recovery after her husband, ABC’s World News Tonight co-anchor Bob Woodruff, was critically injured by a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq in 2006. She shared her life lessons and experiences from this in her New York Times best-seller, In an Instant.
Known for her witty sense of humor and down-to-earth delivery, Woodruff offers insight to those who are going through a difficult time and also addresses how to support the people they know as they go through tough experiences.
“We are so looking forward to Lee’s appearance this year,” said Jamie Carter, chief executive officer of Crittenden Regional Hospital. “Her story is a true testament of how to love a family during a time of crisis, as well as how to raise a family at the same time. This will resonate with everyone −how to care and love for people during their times of need while still doing what it takes to get by day-to-day.”
Eight-person tables are available for $1,000, and individual tickets are $125 each. The deadline for reservations is Oct. 4, 2011.
